1. Make sure area you are covering with drywall has proper backing to secure the entire sheet.

2. When installing drywall don't forget to stagger the joints; Make sure each row of drywall is offset from the last row to provide a more stable base for taping and mudding.

3. Do not try to save money by re-using small piece of drywall. The amount of extra work to cover the extra joints will cost more in the long run to install and to maintain.
